Museo Paparella Treccia Devlet

The Paparella Treccia Devlet Museum occupies a late 19th-century villa in the northern part of Pescara, one of the few grand bourgeois residences in a city that lost most of its architectural heritage in the Second World War. The museum takes its name from the families who donated the building and its contents to the city.

The collection focuses on applied arts and decorative objects — furniture, ceramics, silverware, and fabrics — from the 18th and 19th centuries, providing a window into the domestic culture of the Abruzzese middle classes before the wars. There are also sections on traditional Abruzzese crafts. The building itself is the main attraction: the interior retains period decoration and gives a sense of how a prosperous family in this part of Italy lived a century and a half ago. It is less visited than Pescara's other museums and all the quieter for it.
