Gubbio's sights are concentrated and walkable. The medieval centre sits on a hillside and the streets are steep — wear shoes you can walk in. The big ticket is Piazza Grande and the Palazzo dei Consoli above it, but leave time for the Roman theatre at the foot of the hill and the cable car up to Sant'Ubaldo.
