Ca' Pesaro

Ca' Pesaro is a grand Baroque palace on the Grand Canal, now home to Venice's International Gallery of Modern Art and the Museum of Oriental Art. The modern art collection focuses especially on Italian and European work from the 19th and 20th centuries, while the upstairs museum holds Asian textiles, armour, porcelain, and other objects.

It is a good choice when the main Venice sights feel too crowded. The palace itself is part of the draw, with heavy canal-front architecture and quieter galleries that reward slow looking.
