The cathedral of Verona, consecrated in 1187 on the site of an early Christian church. The façade combines Romanesque and Gothic forms; the double porch, supported by columns resting on stylised lion figures, is the work of Nicolò, who also carved the porch of San Zeno. The interior is notable for Titian's Assumption (1535–40) in the Nichesola Chapel — his only work in Verona — and for the tomb of St Agatha by an unknown 14th-century master.
