The largest square in Verona and the social centre of the city. Lined on one side with a long boulevard of cafes and restaurants (the Liston), the neoclassical Palazzo Municipale on another, and the Roman Arena on a third. On summer evenings the Arena hosts open-air opera and the cafes fill up beforehand. A good place to get your bearings when you first arrive and to return to after a day exploring the backstreets.
