The Aleksotas Funicular climbs from the Nemunas riverside to the Aleksotas viewpoint, making it both a piece of Kaunas transport heritage and a practical shortcut to one of the city's classic views. The ride is brief, but the old machinery and slope give it character.
At the top, the panorama over the Old Town, castle area and river confluence is the real payoff. It is an easy add-on to a walk across the bridge from central Kaunas.
