The Domus — also known as the Casa del Hombre — is a science museum devoted entirely to the human body and what it means to be human. The building itself, designed by Japanese architect Arata Isozaki and opened in 1995, is architecturally remarkable: a great curved slate fin cantilevered over the seafront at the northern end of the Paseo Marítimo.
Inside, the permanent collection explores human biology, senses, genetics, and consciousness through interactive exhibits. It is engaging for adults and excellent for children. The museum forms part of the Museos Científicos Coruñeses alongside the Casa de las Ciencias and the Aquarium Finisterrae — a combined ticket covers all three.
The building's position at the edge of the Atlantic makes it a good destination in itself even before entering. The views north from the terrace reach toward the Torre de Hércules and the open sea.
