The Fine Arts Museum holds a permanent collection strong in Flemish and Spanish Old Masters, 19th-century Galician painting, and works by Picasso — who studied at the school of fine arts here as a teenager. The building, a converted 18th-century convent, is handsome in itself.
The collection is smaller than those of Bilbao or Madrid but curated with care, and it gives real context to Picasso's early development. Entry is free on Saturdays and Sundays.
