The Camber Dock

A small, working tidal dock at the heart of Old Portsmouth — the only place in the city where you can still see the inshore fishing fleet land their catch. Trawlers and small fishing boats come and go all day; a stack of wooden lobster pots usually sits on the quayside.

The Camber has been a working dock since the medieval town was founded and is one of the oldest commercial spaces in continuous use in the city. The Bridge Tavern stands at the southwestern corner and is a good place to stop for a drink while watching the boats.
