Just south of the Mission, Bernal Hill offers one of the best 360-degree panoramas in the city -- and unlike Twin Peaks, it is not overrun with tour buses. The grassy hilltop is closed to car traffic, making it a peaceful spot for walking, dog watching, and taking in views that stretch from downtown to the Bay and beyond.
Drive or walk up Folsom Street from Cesar Chavez and you will see where locals park along the road. Bring a camera. This is a neighborhood secret that rewards the short climb.
