Gold Medal Park is a small but memorable riverfront park beside the Guthrie Theater. Its main feature is a grassy 32-foot mound, reached by a spiral path, with views over the Mississippi, the Mill District, and the old industrial riverfront.
It works best as part of a walk linking Mill Ruins Park, the Stone Arch Bridge, and the Guthrie. The park is simple, but the raised view helps explain why this bend of the river shaped Minneapolis.
