Theodore Wirth Park is the largest park in the Minneapolis park system, spread between North Minneapolis and the western suburbs. It is more varied than a simple neighbourhood green: woods, trails, water, golf, picnic areas, and winter sports all share the same broad landscape.
It is best treated as an outdoors stop rather than a formal sight. Come for a walk, a bike ride, cross-country skiing in winter, or a quieter break after the denser museum and riverfront sights closer to downtown.
