The yellow clapboard house on W. 11th Street in Tremont was used for the exterior shots of A Christmas Story (1983), and after the film became a holiday institution the new owners restored the interior to match the on-screen sets — leg lamp, kitchen radio, soap-eating sink, all of it. A small museum across the street holds props and original costumes.
It is a niche attraction: the dedicated fans treat it as a pilgrimage; everyone else finds it pleasant for forty-five minutes. December is mobbed; spring and autumn are quiet. Tickets at the door include both the house and the museum.
Tremont is also worth wandering before or after the visit — the surrounding streets contain some of Cleveland's best restaurants.
