University Circle

A square mile of museums, hospitals, and music institutions east of downtown

University Circle is the densest concentration of cultural and educational institutions in Ohio, packed into roughly one square mile five miles east of downtown. Case Western Reserve University, the Cleveland Clinic main campus, and the city's flagship cultural buildings (the Museum of Art, Severance Hall, the Museum of Natural History, the Botanical Garden, the History Center) are all within walking distance of each other.

A free Circlelink shuttle runs a loop between the major institutions; the Red Line station at University Circle drops you within walking distance of everything. Wade Oval, the green at the centre of the district, hosts a free outdoor concert series most Wednesdays in summer.

The neighbourhood is busy by day and quiet at night — most workers and students go home — but the restaurant scene along Euclid Avenue toward Little Italy has been steadily improving.
