The Dunham Tavern, built in 1824, is the oldest standing building in Cleveland and the only one that survives on its original site. It was a stagecoach stop on the post road between Buffalo and Detroit; the parlour and dining room have been restored to roughly their 1840s appearance, and the surrounding garden is a quiet half-acre of green at one of Euclid Avenue's loudest intersections.
The museum is small and run mainly by volunteers — open Wednesday and Sunday afternoons from spring through autumn, with longer hours during the Christmas candlelight tour. Admission is free; donations expected.
