The southern tip of the Charleston peninsula: a raised seawall promenade lined with enormous pre-war mansions on one side and Charleston Harbor, dotted with Civil War-era cannons, on the other. The adjacent White Point Garden is a leafy oak-shaded square with statuary and bandstand. Walk out for sunset, when the light on the harbour is at its best.
