French Huguenot Church

The French Huguenot Church is one of Charleston's most distinctive historic churches. The congregation was organized by French Protestant refugees around 1681, and the first church on this site was built in 1687.

The present Gothic Revival building stands in the old French Quarter, close to the Old Slave Mart Museum, Dock Street Theatre, and Charleston's historic market streets. It is worth a short stop for its architecture and its link to one of the city's early immigrant communities.
