Eagle Mountain Park is a trail park on the shore of Eagle Mountain Lake, northwest of central Fort Worth. It gives the city a wilder-feeling hiking option than its manicured urban parks, with woods, slopes, and lake views.
The trails are not mountain wilderness, but they are satisfying for a half-day walk close to town. Go for exercise, birds, and open views over the water, especially if you need a nature break from museums, stockyards, and highways.
