Fort Worth Japanese Garden

A 7-acre Japanese garden inside the larger Botanic Garden complex, built in 1973 around an old gravel pit by the Japanese-American designer Kingsley Wu. There are stone bridges over koi ponds, a tea house, a moon-viewing deck, and a stand of Japanese cherry trees that flower in late March. The wider Botanic Garden is also worth time — rose gardens, perennial beds, and a tropical conservatory. Quiet on weekday mornings, busy on weekends.
