Abis Cafe is a small boutique cafe on Calle San Alberto, run by a young Bolivian-French couple. Mornings are mostly breakfast — granola bowls, eggs, fresh fruit, omelettes, a respectable French toast — and lunchtimes turn to wraps, soups, and salads built around local produce from the Tarija valley. They take coffee seriously: well-pulled espresso and pour-overs using Bolivian beans.
The room has perhaps twenty seats arranged around tall windows, with shelves of books in five languages along one wall. Wi-Fi is fast, music is subdued, and conversations rarely rise above a hush. A good place to settle in with a journal or laptop for a couple of hours.
