Cafe Capital

Excellent specialty coffee a block from the cathedral

Cafe Capital is a small specialty coffee shop on Plaza 25 de Mayo's south side, easy to miss between larger establishments. The owner roasts beans from Bolivian producers in the Yungas and Caranavi regions — single-origin Bolivian coffee has improved dramatically over the past decade and Cafe Capital is one of the best places in Sucre to taste it. Espresso, V60 pour-overs, cold brew, and a short menu of pastries and sandwiches.

The space is small — maybe a dozen seats — with a marble counter and clean white tiles. Quiet, no music, good light from the high window. The kind of cafe where you read the paper for an hour and order a second cup. A relief after the louder traveller cafes nearby.
