Parque da Monica is a large indoor theme park in Santo Amaro, built around Mauricio de Sousa's popular Monica comic characters. It is aimed mainly at children, with rides, play areas, and character-heavy sets, but adults visiting with kids will find enough to make it an easy half-day.
The park is useful on rainy days or when Sao Paulo's size has worn younger travellers down. It is not a general sightseeing stop, but for families it fills a real gap in the city.
