Ramna Kali Mandir is a reconstructed Hindu temple dedicated to Kali, standing on the site of a much older shrine. The original temple was destroyed during the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War, making the rebuilt complex both a place of worship and a marker of the city's painful modern history.
It is close to central Dhaka's university and park district, so it can be visited together with nearby historic and civic sights. Dress and behave respectfully, as this is an active religious site.
