Victoria Park is the largest park on Hong Kong Island, a 19-hectare expanse of lawns, sports facilities, and gardens in the middle of Causeway Bay. On weekday mornings it fills with tai chi practitioners; at weekends families, Filipina domestic workers on their day off, and model-boat enthusiasts on the central pond. The park has an outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, and cycling track.
The park is best known internationally as the site of Hong Kong's annual June 4th candlelight vigil commemorating the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre — once the largest annual vigil outside mainland China, drawing tens of thousands before its organising group was dissolved in 2021.
