Sheung Wan

Old-Hong-Kong neighbourhood of antique shops and dried seafood streets

Directly west of Central, Sheung Wan is quieter, older, and more characterful — the best neighbourhood on the island for an unhurried walk. Hollywood Road and Cat Street (Upper Lascar Row) are lined with antique shops selling Chinese furniture, scroll paintings, and ceramics; Man Mo Temple anchors the upper end. Below Queen's Road, the dried seafood and Chinese medicine shops along Ko Shing Street and Des Voeux Road West still supply the city's traditional pantry. PMQ, the former Police Married Quarters on Aberdeen Street, has been converted into a design and craft centre. Sheung Wan MTR.
