The Shengmi Lane Historic Block (胜利路历史文化街区) preserves a stretch of Republican-era streetscape in Donghu district, with two-story shophouses, stone-paved lanes, and decorative Baroque and Neoclassical facades that reflect the architectural hybridization of 1920s and 1930s Chinese cities. Several buildings have been restored as cafes, bookshops, and craft studios, which brings pedestrian life back to the streets without overwhelming the historic character.
The block includes several former commercial buildings that housed significant Republican-era businesses and one building associated with a figure from the underground Communist network in Nanchang before 1927. A short interpretive walk is marked with plaques in Chinese. The area is quieter and more genuinely historical feeling than the rebuilt Shengjin Tower commercial street.
