Baz Bahadur Palace

Baz Bahadur Palace lies below Rani Roopmati Pavilion, arranged around a spacious courtyard with arcades, terraces, and water channels. Compared with the Royal Enclave it feels quieter, more domestic, and more closely tied to the landscape.

The palace is best visited with Rewa Kund and Roopmati's Pavilion, since the three sites form a natural circuit. Look for the way the terraces frame the surrounding hills rather than treating the building as an isolated monument.

A story
Baz Bahadur was the last independent sultan of Malwa, remembered as much for music and romance as for politics. His defeat by the Mughals in 1561 ended Mandu's independent courtly world.
