Rewa Kund

Rewa Kund is a stepped tank near Baz Bahadur Palace, traditionally linked to Rani Roopmati and the Narmada. It is a smaller, quieter stop than Mandu's famous palaces, but it helps explain how water shaped life on the plateau.

Visit it as part of the southern group. The tank, palace, and pavilion together make the landscape legible: water below, courtly buildings on the slope, and the long drop toward the plains beyond.

A story
Rewa is an old name for the Narmada, and local tradition says the tank was built to bring sacred water close to Roopmati. Mandu is full of such hydraulic storytelling, where tanks and channels carry both practical and symbolic weight.
