Nilkanth Temple

Nilkanth Temple sits west of the main monument groups in a ravine setting that feels more secluded than the central ruins. The shrine is dedicated to Shiva, but the architecture around it carries the mixed courtly vocabulary of Mandu's later history.

It is worth the detour if you have transport and time after the main groups. The approach, the water, and the stonework make it feel less like a checklist monument and more like a place still in local use.

A story
The site is associated with Akbar's period and shows Mandu's habit of religious overlap. A later Hindu shrine occupies a setting shaped by earlier courtly architecture, which is very Mandu: layered rather than cleanly separated.
