Banjarmasin's best experiences are all on the water. The floating markets draw the most visitors, but a klotok trip through the river canals, a visit to a mangrove island, and the city's great mosque are all worth your time. Most of the river-based activities require an early start — the markets wind down by 8am, and the river light is best before the heat sets in.
