Kek Lok Tong (the Cave of Great Happiness) sits in the same limestone hill range as Sam Poh Tong but is younger — built in the 1970s — and quieter. The cave is reached through the Gunung Rapat housing estate and opens onto a large chamber with Buddha statues, lotus ponds and a cool breeze that blows straight through from the far side of the hill. Locals consider the setting the most scenic of Ipoh's cave temples; there is a vegetarian restaurant on site.
