Wazir Khan Chowk

The small triangular plaza in front of the Wazir Khan Mosque, restored by the Walled City of Lahore Authority and now the best-preserved historic square in the Androon Shahr. The mosque's gateway — with its tile-mosaic facade — dominates one side; the Chitta Gate and the entrance to the bazaars frame the others.

The square comes alive in the late afternoon, with food stalls setting up along the edges and the call to prayer echoing from the mosque. A good place to pause on a Walled City walk; the rooftop of the nearby Sufi cafe has the best view of the mosque facade.
