The Anthropos Pavilion is the Moravian Museum's prehistoric branch, set west of the centre in Pisárky. Its exhibitions focus on early human settlement in Moravia and Europe, with Ice Age tools, reconstructions, and material linked to the famous archaeological sites south of Brno.
The full-size mammoth is the crowd-pleaser, but the stronger reason to come is the regional context: South Moravia is one of Europe's great prehistoric landscapes, and the pavilion makes that visible in a way the city-centre museums only partly do. It is especially good with children or anyone who wants archaeology presented physically rather than as rows of labels and potsherds.
