A purpose-built glass-and-steel museum on the bank of the Ill, opened in 1998. The collection runs from Impressionism through to contemporary art, with particular strength in works connected to Alsace: Jean Arp, who was born in Strasbourg, is well represented, as is Gustave Doré. Other highlights include pieces by Monet, Rodin, Klimt, and Klee.
