A long, sandy beach on the southeast coast, in a valley between two headlands about 12 km from Mykonos Town. The setting is picturesque, with the beach stretching in a gentle arc and the hills behind it relatively green for Mykonos. It is quieter than most beaches on the south coast and attracts a mixed crowd of families and younger visitors who have discovered it via the beach club that opened here.
The drive or taxi ride from town takes 20–25 minutes on winding roads. A caïque service runs from Platis Gialos in summer. The beach is sandy and the water is clear; it faces south and catches morning sun early.
