The Protestant Church of Avas is one of Miskolc's defining historic landmarks, set on the Avas hill above the centre. Its Gothic fabric, separate bell tower, and surrounding cemetery give the site a stronger sense of age than much of the modern city below.
It is worth the short climb for both architecture and orientation. The area around the church connects naturally with Avas wine cellars and hillside walks, making it a compact historic detour rather than a single interior visit.
