Porta Oscura is a medieval gate in Trapani's old town, now best known for the 16th-century astronomical clock above it. The clock shows solar time and lunar phases, making the gate more than just a surviving fragment of the old defences.
It stands beside Palazzo Senatorio, so it is easy to include on a short walk through Trapani's historic centre.
