Villa Margherita is Trapani's old-fashioned breathing space, a rectangular public garden just outside the historic centre. Opened in the late nineteenth century, it has shaded paths, mature trees, fountains, and the pleasantly civic feel of a town park that locals actually use.
It is not a blockbuster sight, but it earns its place on a Trapani walk. Drop in between churches, port views, and the old streets, or look for the summer programme at the open-air theatre, when the garden becomes part of the city's evening life.
