Villa de Bank

Villa de Bank is an independent art space in a converted bank building on the eastern edge of the city centre. It hosts contemporary art exhibitions, performances, and events, and is one of the more interesting arts spaces in the region — smaller and more experimental in programming than the Rijksmuseum Twenthe.

The building itself is handsome: a grand early 20th-century banking hall with high ceilings that suit exhibition use well. Worth checking the programme before visiting; it tends to show work by younger and mid-career artists who are not yet in the mainstream museum circuit.
