Bajondillo Cave is an archaeological site right in the middle of Torremolinos, hidden beneath the resort town in a ravine near Bajondillo beach. It has been excavated since the 1990s and has yielded remains from both Neanderthals and early modern humans, covering a span of over 100,000 years of occupation.
The cave is not routinely open to tourists, but panels near the site explain the discoveries, and the Museo de Historia de Torremolinos in the Casa del Navajas covers the findings in context. It is a reminder that the package-holiday resort is built on one of the more remarkable prehistoric sites on the Iberian coast.
