Calle San Miguel

Calle San Miguel is Torremolinos's main pedestrian street, running from the town centre down the hillside to the beach at Bajondillo. It is the spine of the old town, lined with shops, bars, ice-cream parlours, and restaurants. The upper section is more local and commercial; the lower section, where it descends via steps and ramps past the Torre de Pimentel, is more atmospheric and lined with souvenir stalls and small bars.

The street is most interesting in the evenings when the shop trade winds down and the bar and restaurant scene takes over. The steps down to Bajondillo beach are a natural gathering point, and in summer the entire length fills with strolling tourists and locals from about 7pm onwards.
