Murton Park combines the Yorkshire Museum of Farming, the Danelaw Centre for Living History, and the Derwent Valley Light Railway on the eastern edge of York. It is strongest as a family stop: children get hands-on history, farm animals, and short heritage train rides, while adults get a compact look at rural Yorkshire life from the Iron Age to the 20th century.
Check opening days before going, especially for the living history centre, which often runs around school visits, weekends, and holiday events.
