Esplanade Riel is Winnipeg's striking pedestrian bridge over the Red River, linking The Forks with St. Boniface. Its white cable-stayed mast and sweeping curves make it one of the city's most photographed modern landmarks.
The bridge is useful as well as scenic: it is an easy walk between the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, The Forks, and the historic French-speaking quarter of St. Boniface. Go at dusk for river views and a good angle back toward downtown.
