The Winnipeg facility of the Royal Canadian Mint produces all of Canada's circulating coinage — billions of coins per year. Guided tours (book in advance) take visitors through the production floor to watch the striking, plating, and inspection processes. The tour ends in a gift shop where you can buy commemorative coins and mint sets. Genuinely interesting even for non-numismatists; children love watching coins being made.
