Atlanta's central park, a 200-acre Olmsted-design green space in Midtown between 10th and 14th Streets. The original park hosted the 1895 Cotton States and International Exposition; you can still find a few stone steps from that fair tucked among the trees.
Today Piedmont is the city's main outdoor gathering space — lake views of Lake Clara Meer, the Saturday farmers' market in the active season, the Atlanta Pride parade in October, and Music Midtown every September. The BeltLine's Eastside Trail bounds the park's eastern edge. Free and open all day.
