Lockerbie Square

A six-block historic residential pocket just east of downtown, with original brick streets and immaculately preserved Victorian cottages. The neighbourhood centres on the James Whitcomb Riley House (the home of Indiana's "Hoosier Poet," preserved as a small museum) and is a short walk from Mass Ave.

Lockerbie is the oldest surviving residential district in Indianapolis and one of the most photographed. Most of the houses are private; the Riley House offers tours.
