Oriole Park at Camden Yards

Oriole Park at Camden Yards is one of the most beautiful baseball stadiums in the United States, and seeing a Baltimore Orioles game here is one of the city's best experiences regardless of whether you are a baseball fan. The park sits next to the city's old B&O Railroad warehouse, which forms a dramatic red-brick backdrop to right field. The sightlines are excellent, the atmosphere is genuine, and the crab cake at the concession stand is better than it has any right to be.

Tickets are usually easy to obtain and affordable — the Orioles are a mid-market team and weeknight games in particular are rarely sold out. The stadium is a short walk from the Inner Harbor. Tours of the stadium are available year-round.

A story
Camden Yards opened in 1992 and immediately became the most influential sports venue in America. It was the first modern ballpark to abandon the multipurpose concrete bowl design that had dominated American sports venues since the 1960s and return to the intimate, urban, brick-and-steel aesthetic of pre-war baseball parks. Within a decade, every new ballpark in America was copying it, and the concrete multipurpose stadium became effectively extinct.
