Hampton National Historic Site

Hampton National Historic Site preserves an 18th-century estate north of Baltimore. When the mansion was completed in 1790, it was among the largest private homes in the young United States.

Tours cover the main house, gardens, farm buildings, and the quarters of the enslaved people whose labour supported the estate. The site is most worthwhile for travellers interested in early American wealth, slavery, and the architecture of large plantation landscapes in the Mid-Atlantic.
