Kilbourn Hall is the intimate counterpart to Rochester's grander Eastman Theatre. The room belongs to the Eastman School of Music and is best for chamber music, solo recitals, and smaller ensembles where the sound matters more than spectacle.
Check the Eastman calendar before assuming there is a public performance during your visit. When there is, this is one of Rochester's best cultural bargains: a serious music room in the East End, close to restaurants and the Little Theatre, without the formality of a big-city concert hall.
