Gloria Dei Church, also known as Old Swedes', was built for Philadelphia's Swedish community and opened in 1700. It later became an Episcopal church, but the graveyard, brickwork, and quiet setting still carry the feel of the city's colonial edge.
It is worth pairing with a walk through Queen Village or the Delaware waterfront, especially if you like early American religious and immigrant history.
